BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING 07/16/2009
- The next Plus One Flyers Board of Directors meeting will be held
6:30 pm Thursday July 16th in the MYF terminal building.
All members are invited to attend. One of the primary tasks of
this meeting is the annual appointment of club officers. For
consideration for any of the club's officer positions, please

MEMBERSHIP MEETING ELECTS
BOARD DIRECTORS
- Thanks to the Plus One Flyers members and guests who attended.
Following the social mixer, meeting kickoff and officer reports,
candidate directors gave position statements seeking election.
Congratulations to Directors Chadwick, Eby, Johnston,
Kurowski, Massaro, Schwartz and Wright, whose two-year terms
begin July 1, 2009. -
MANDATORY CFI SAFETY MEETINGS -
All
Plus One Flyers FAA-Certificated Flight Instructor members giving
instruction, flight reviews or checkouts in club airplanes are required to
attend at least one safety meeting within the previous six
months. See the Safety Officer's Safety Page for meeting
times and location details. All club members are
invited to attend CFI safety meetings.

Plus One Flyers at Red Bull Air Race
- Plus One Flyers members were at the race to enjoy the Navy
demonstrations and the flying skills of the race pilots. Those
Extra 300s and Edge 540s look like fun!

Excellent SPRING
2009 General Membership Meeting
- Thanks to the full theater of Plus One Flyers members,
prospective members and guests who attended our spring
membership meeting! After the officer reports Dave Eby,
MYF Operations Officer, gave an outstanding presentation on the
new self-dispatch computer system for club airplanes, fielding a
variety of excellent questions from everyone present.
Congratulations also to the door prize and raffle winners!

Excellent WINTER
2009 General Membership Meeting
- Thanks to the 130 members and guests who attended our winter
membership meeting and third annual guest FAA Safety Panel,
featuring SOCAL TRACON controller Bill Jacobs, MYF tower chief Tom
Dray, San Diego FSDO FAASTeam leader Fred Christlieb, and
moderator Plus
One Flyers Safety Officer Bob Agresto. After enjoying the
pizza and soft drinks, club officers reported and presented the
new self-dispatch and flight e-payment system now in its final
testing stages, and the panel answered many probing questions
from the moderator and members. John McCullough was presented an
award plaque with the sincere thanks of the entire club for his
11 years of service as SEE Operations Officer. Eric Archer
and John Sanders each received one 'standard' flight-hour with
the gratitude of the Board of Directors for their volunteer work
above the call of their duties to club. Congratulations
also to the lucky 8 door prize winners and the lucky winner of
the $160 raffle!

out: We Need Airplanes! –
With club
airplane demand at an all-time high, particularly for good Piper
and Cessna trainers, this might perhaps be the best possible
time to lease an airplane to the club at SEE, RNM and MYF.
To help, we’ve prepared a kit including a club brochure
and example business model spreadsheets, available upon request
to qualified prospective airplane owners. In addition to
facilitating ownership cost offsets, the club may pay between
80% and 100% of extra wear or damage repairs not already covered
by insurance, plus limited downtime revenue losses, through our
exclusive Insurance Deductible Plan (IDP); the responsible
member reimburses the club for up to 20%, with a maximum of $100
for insurance claims. Contact a club officer for the kit
details.

PLUS ONE FLYERS GOES MORE GREEN
- Our entire airplane fleet is being equipped with new
GATS fuel sampling jars. The GATS jars allow multiple sample
collections to be returned to the fuel tank and if used properly
also strain out water and contaminants. Help protect our
environment by using the GATS fuel sample jars, and be sure to
keep them in the airplane!

Plus One Flyers at Gillespie Field (SEE) ready for members!
- Unless he's out flying with a student as an FAA Gold Seal and
Master CFI/CFII, SEE Operations Officer Dave Simpson will greet
you at our new Gillespie club office, now open for
your membership flying pleasure or training use with two
computers, three ground school tables, a whiteboard, and more!
You can unlock the door using your membership key. Dave is busy
working to bring an IFR flight training device, additional
airplanes, more CFIs and more member pilots to fly at Plus One
